Healthwatch Cumbria have recently received an update from NHS England on the opening of the new Appleby Dentist. This has been delayed but will be opening as soon as possible – please see the message below:
Dental Services: Appleby NHS Dental Practice – Delay in Opening
Further to the email of 30 May 2018, we agreed to keep you updated on the opening of the new Appleby NHS Dental Practice.
The practice which will be located in Shire Hall, Appleby was expected to be open to patients in August 2018 but unfortunately there has been a delay due to the preparation of the premises. Please be assured that we are working closely with the provider to ensure that the practice opens as soon as possible and we look forward to communicating a confirmed date very soon.
We are writing to patients to update them of the current situation. We will write again to patients once we have a confirmed opening date and provide details on how they can register. We appreciate that there will be a lot of interest in registering at the dental practice when it opens and we will be reassuring patients that the practice will have sufficient capacity to manage the expected demand.
In the meantime, patients can continue to access the interim arrangements that have been put in place, i.e. children can be seen for routine dental appointments at The Limes Dental Practice, Shire Hall, The Sands, Appleby in Westmorland, Tel: 017683 51830. Dedicated urgent access appointments are available at the practice on a
Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday morning and can be accessed by ringing Dental Direct on 01228 603900. Access to appointments for urgent and emergency dental treatment is also available, as normal, in Carlisle (Telephone 01228 603900) and Kendal (Telephone 01539 716822).
Many thanks for your help, support and cooperation during this process. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any queries regarding this matter: firstname.lastname@example.org”
