A revised Risk Management Strategy is being showcased at the next University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust Board meeting, which is being held in Lancaster this Wednesday.
The strategy defines the way the Trust will manage risk at each level of the organisation, whether this is at Department, Divisional, Corporate or Strategic levels.
This strategy also describes the Trust’s quality and governance structure for risk management as set out in the Governance Strategy and the systems through which the Trust Board receives assurance.
The meeting is also due to hear the first report of the Morecambe Bay Investigation Report Committee – which has been tasked with leading the Trust response and implementing the recommendations from the recently published investigation.
It will also receive the Trust Operational Plan for the 2015-16 financial year, and receive information on the final performance position of the Trust for the 2014-15 financial year.
Mary Aubrey, Director of Governance, University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation trust, said: “The Risk Management Strategy has been reviewed to support all members of staff to control and reduce the risks associated with providing healthcare within this Trust. In line with the Trust’s Quality Improvement Plan the Trust aims to ensure that patients and service users receive safe, effective care that are reflective of the needs of patients.”
The meeting takes place in the Lecture Theatre at the Education centre of Royal Lancaster Infirmary on Wednesday 29 April at 10am. All members of the public are welcome to attend.
