I have gained an interest in supporting the improvement of health and social care services through my experiences in previous roles. I am a qualified primary school teacher, but I chose to work in a school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties, many of which were in social care or had complex social and medical needs. From here I moved to work as an assessor, providing apprenticeships in Health and Social Care from levels 2-5 and I have progressed to managing two independent living retirement facilities. Through these roles I have gained some insight into the difficulties people face on a day to day basis accessing and effectively using, health and social care services.
I have two young daughters, so don’t get much free time, but I enjoy playing Netball and Rounders for the South Lakes leagues and spending time with my family.
