Healthwatch Cumbria has shared the views and experiences gathered from patients and members of the public, with the Care Quality Commissions Chief Inspectors, as they carry out their intensive inspection of North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The Healthwatch Team, along with the Best Life NHS Complaint Advocacy Service Team, prepared a report detailing the concerns, complaints and feedback that they have received in recent months. This report has been provided to the team of 35 Inspectors, visiting the Trusts main sites.
It is hoped that the many views and experiences that are detailed in the report will help the inspectors know where to focus their attention as they visit the Cumberland Infirmary, West Cumberland Hospital and Maternity Service at Penrith Hospital.
The Healthwatch and NHS Complaints teams were also able to attend the two listening events hosted by the CQC. These events enabled patients and the public a chance to share their stories. Healthwatch staff were on hand to support people, offer information and help to take forward individual concerns and complaints should people wished to do so.
