On the 2nd October, The Chair of WCCF, The Venerable Dr. Richard Pratt was invited to attend a lunch time discussion during a day long visit by Simon Stevens and other senior NHS staff to Cumbria. The informal session was held in the Board Room of West Cumberland Hospital.
Richard was invited to bring up to 5 colleagues to the session and he extended this invitation to West Cumbria Community Forum members representing key communities including CALC, The We Need West Cumberland Hospital Campaign Group, the newly formed West Cumbria Voice for Healthcare and the Third Sector Network.
Richard also coordinated a process that resulted in a series of significant key questions being worded which took account of the many suggestions put forward by Forum members. The final questions were shared with the full Forum and used to shape the conversation that took place.
Questions to Simon Stevens from members of West Cumbria Community Forum are included in the link below, a long with a summary of responses on the 2nd October.
Healthwatch Cumbria is currently awaiting a formal response which will be available in due Course.
