Have your say about maternity and paediatric services in West, North and East Cumbria

A Listening Event to help shape how local people and the NHS can work together to help develop and improve maternity and paediatric services in West, North and East Cumbria is being held in Workington.

Two drop in sessions, which are open to everyone, will be held at the Carnegie Theatre in Workington on Tuesday May 16th between 1-3pm and 5-7pm.

The event is a step towards better joint understanding and joint development of the coproduction agreed by members of NHS Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group’s (CCG) Governing Body in March when they considered decisions about the Healthcare For The Future consultation.

Dr David Rogers, medical director for NHS North Cumbria CCG, said: “We heard very clearly during the consultation that the community thought there were more things the NHS can do to tackle the recruitment problems that challenge the service, and there are lots of ideas they want to share to help shape future services. This meeting is the first of many steps to take us in that direction and to help us work together more collaboratively.”

People can come for the whole session or drop in and take part in the conversations in small groups, or by sharing their thoughts in written form or directly with NHS staff, representatives from Cumbria CVS and Healthwatch Cumbria.

It is open to everyone and there will be tea and coffee.
