The Statutory guidance for Local Authorities and NHS organisations to support implementation of the Adult Autism Strategy recommends consulting with “people with autism and their representatives, whether or not they are eligible for care and support, about barriers to employment and examples of local good practice”.
The Cumbria Autism Partnership Board will be discussing the issue of employment at their November meeting. To inform these discussions the Board has devised a questionnaire to ask people with autism about their employment experiences and barriers to employment, as well as seeking to identify some examples of good practice. The questionnaire can be found at here. The Board would appreciate responses by 5pm on 23rd October. Please circulate to anyone who you feel may be interested in telling them about their employment experiences.
