This Healthwatch Cumbria report presents an assessment of the experiences of those people who participated in the Community Interest groups (or Alliances) which were directly involved in the co-production process surrounding the decision to remove inpatient beds from the community hospitals in Alston, Wigton and Maryport.
The report sheds light on the state of relationships between the Alliances and the NHS, to provide informed feedback and improve the co-production approach for all involved. The report does not focus on the technical aspects of changes to service delivery in the catchments for Alston, Maryport and Wigton community hospitals or the rationale for the removal of beds.
