I had been suffering on and off with toothache for some weeks, and on Friday the pain became too great and I rang my dentist to try to get an appointment. The receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. I had two options, go and sit and wait in the surgery and hopefully they would slot me in, or try to last the weekend and ring up on Monday morning.
I opted for the latter, so took plenty of painkillers and crossed my fingers.
This morning, after ringing the surgery from 8.30am and getting a constant engaged tone – I decided to head there in person. Again the receptionist was kind, and suggested I take a seat and prepare to be in for a long wait, but that I would be seen this morning at some point. After 45 minutes waiting, I was called in to see my dentist. He too was very kind and after a quick appointment – fortunately no need for drills and pliers this time – I made it into work with a course of antibiotics.
The Surgery – Cavendish Street Practice in Barrow in Furness – excellent
The Dentist – Mr Knagg – excellent
The Reception Team – excellent
I do not know if this surgery is currently taking on new patients – but if you are without a dentist, or need to change dentists for whatever reason. I would recommend this surgery.
