I had been suffering on and off with toothache for some weeks, and on Friday (11th October) the pain became too great and I rang my dentist to try to get an appointment. The receptionist was extremely kind and helpful. I had two options, go and sit and wait in the surgery and hopefully they would slot me in, or try to last the weekend and ring up on Monday morning (today – 14th October).
I opted for the latter, so took plenty of painkillers and crossed my fingers.
This morning, after ringing the surgery from 8.30am and getting a constant engaged tone – I decided to head there in person. Again the receptionist was kind, and suggested I take a seat and prepare to be in for a long wait, but that I would be seen this morning at some point. After 45 minutes waiting, I was called in to see my dentist. He too was very kind and after a quick appointment – fortunately no need for drills and pliers this time – I made it into work with a course of antibiotics.
The Surgery – Cavendish Street Practice in Barrow in Furness – excellent
The Dentist – Mr Knagg – excellent
The Reception Team – excellent
I do not know if this surgery is currently taking on new patients – but if you are without a dentist, or need to change dentists for whatever reason. I would recommend this surgery.
